dear people with smartphones: STOP SHOOTING VIDEO IN TALL MODE. SHOOT LANDSCAPE!!!! TURN THAT FREAKIN 500 DOLLAR PHONE TO THE SIDE AND YOU’LL MAKE ALL US EDITORS HAPPIER!
unless you plan on making some kind of IMAX movie with your phone….or plan on turning your tvs, laptop screens, and computer monitors TALL….do yourself a favor and flip the camera to the side for peet’s sake.
look….the iphone and its knockoffs are NOT old nokia, flip phones. man, even those OLD phones were better at video because they at least made the video 4×3…ya know…like your old TV you used to own in the 90s.
but these jerks today, shooting HD video TALL-wise is the most annoying thing ever. you’re literally losing all the picture that you can possibly see, people! and if you’re capturing a gigantic moment in your life, then you’re really screwing that moment up.

when was the last time you watched a movie in the theater where it was all shot vertically?

so please….if you or your friends shoot video this way, STOP. if you see someone else do it, kindly tell them to stop! we have amazing devices nowadays that shoot crystal clear video. use it to its advantage!
